I do not see a cleanse as the same thing as a laxative regime. First cleanse brought me flu-like symptoms and extreme body pain. It lasted about two days, from day 3-4. I actually had to call in sick because I felt like bunk. That passed. After finishing the cleanse, I noticed a few things. My endurance improved in exercising. My food intake seemed to be more efficient and I did not want to snack as much, but also when I did do too much snacking or ate meals that were a pushing the boat out, I was not putting on weight. My skin went from unpredictable with sporadic adult acne to completely clear. I felt much healthier than I had in a long time. I'm someone who had a BMI of 41 seven years ago and now have a BMI of 22-23 (I've tried many things!). Avoid the processed foods and keep sugar low. I'd recommend this cleanse maybe once a year during a time when you can have some down-time.

Well, after all the negative reviews, I have to say, I expected something horrific. Why did I still decide to try the product? Solely because I felt bad about the $22 that I've already spent at Whole Foods. By the time I read the reviews, I was already on day 3 of my cleansing cycle, and, with no negative side effects to report, felt mildly curious about whether they will ideed occur in my case.
They never came.
My bowel movements increased from the usual once a day to 3 or even 4 times a day. I admit, i felt somewhat high the first day I was taking the capsules, but I could just as easily attribute the weird sensation to the combo of a bad cold and a UTI I had at the time. I eat healthy foods most of the time, so the increase in the bowel movement was a pleasant perk.
Other than that, I did not notice anything unusual. I am not really sure what I was supposed to be feeling (some people report an increase of energy, etc.), but none of that was apparent.
I did not rate this product with a 5-star review simply because its effects are negligible. However, I feel I may have lost a tiny bit of weight in the last week; so that is nice.

I may have had an existing problem that wouldn't be addressed by a colon cleanse (I tried this because I was experiencing severe bloating), but I found this product left me more constipated than I have ever been in my entire adult life. I was not constipated at all before trying this, eat reasonably well, and have a long history of taking various herbs, so I thought the worst that would happen with this product was that I would be going to be bathroom a lot. The first few days of 1 capsule each was fine, but when I moved up to 2 capsules, it was as if my stomach just stopped working. I was surprised at the pain I was in; my stomach became distended, and I was constipated for over 3 days. I didn't try taking the Fiber Smart capsules,because by day 2, I wanted to be done with this product (I alleviated my constipation with a bag of prunes and a double espresso!). Maybe I didn't do this first cleanse right, but I'm not sure I'd want to try again unless I have a better idea of why this caused me so much discomfort.

Like some of the other reviewers, this cleanse had the opposite affect on me than what was intended. In order to cleanse you need to eleminate - that didn't happen. I expected this cleanse would increase my bowel movements and it did for the first day. After that, I have been so painfully constipated that I had to stop the cleanse. I was very careful with my diet and water intake but did not purchase more supplements like Cleanse More. $25 was enough. I can understand if you need help to increase bowel movements but this cleanse basically stopped them! Sort of defeats the purpose! I increased my fiber intake and will probably need to use Miralax - per my dr's recommendation, to get things going.

As my title suggests, I was not pleased with first cleanse. It was the first cleanse I had ever done, and I decided to to do so because I felt I had been drinking too heavily and not eating well. Lets start with the positives: The only aspect of the cleanse I actually liked was the fact that for two weeks I forced myself to drink ridiculous amounts of water, eat healthy, and not touch alcohol. Obviously, this has nothing to do with the product itself.
The negative: You really don't feel the need to drink alcohol with this product as your already drunk all day. As other reviews have stated, the pills make you feel completely wasted. Not good wasted, but like you woke up still drunk from the night before. I called the service line to ask if the feelings I was having were normal. The woman on the phone was nice enough, but really had no idea what to tell me. She just said to continue to drink lots of purified water, continue taking fiber smart (as I had been doing religiously), and possibly throw in some cleansemore (which I did; it didn't help). To top it all off, I had no positive change in bowl movement. If anything, my movements occurred less often. That was especially strange to me, as I was taking in far more fiber than normal. It's as if the pills somehow counteracted the fiber. I really can't give specifics on what was going on in my body; who knows, who cares? The point is this stuff failed to work as claimed.
Ultimately, I did feel better than before and lost a little weight. I really believe, though, that it had more to do with my lifestyle changes than with the product itself. I've continued to live healthy and have continued to experienced all the first two week gains. First cleanses only contribution was to put me in a two week drunken stupor; and not in a good way.
